ในปีนี้ เชลล์ได้เปิดตัวแนวคิดใหม่ #EnergyAmbition “พลังงานดี ชีวิตมีสุข” ซึ่งเป็นแผนการดำเนินงานหลักของเชลล์ในช่วงปี พ.ศ. 2563-2565 ที่สภาพเศรษฐกิจและสังคมเปลี่ยนแปลงไป เพื่อเดินหน้าการลงทุนในธุรกิจพลังงาน การเปลี่ยนผ่านพลังงาน และการสนับสนุนช่วยเหลือสังคม โดยการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือและสร้างประโยชน์ให้กับทุกภาคส่วน ทั้งนี้ การเปลี่ยนแปลงในระดับโลก เช่น การขยายตัวของความเป็นเมือง (Urbanization) และการปรับเปลี่ยนด้านดิจิทัล (Digitalization) กำลังทำให้รูปแบบของการคมนาคมขนส่งในปัจจุบันแตกต่างไปจากเดิม โดยมีการคาดการณ์ว่า ภายในปี พ.ศ. 2593 จำนวนประชากรโลกจะทะยานขึ้นถึง 9 พันล้านคน และจะมีจำนวนรถยนต์ที่วิ่งบนถนนเพิ่มขึ้นอีกเท่าตัว จากจำนวน 1 พันล้านคันในปัจจุบัน เชลล์ ประเทศไทย ได้เตรียมพร้อมสำหรับความท้าทายนี้ โดยบริษัทกำหนดเป้าหมายในการลดการปล่อยก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ในการดำเนินงานลง 20% ภายในปี พ.ศ. 2568 และมุ่งสู่การเป็นบริษัทพลังงานที่ชดเชยคาร์บอนให้เป็นศูนย์ (Net Carbon Footprint) ภายในปี พ.ศ. 2593 บนพื้นฐานการทำงานร่วมกับภาคส่วนต่างๆ เพื่อร่วมกันขับเคลื่อนการเปลี่ยนผ่านพลังงาน
