This project focuses on upskilling oil change mechanics at Shell Engine Oil Change Service Centres nationwide through a curriculum jointly developed by Shell and the Department of Skill Development. The program combines in-depth knowledge of Shell’s world-class lubricant products with practical mechanic training aligned with national skill standards. Training includes everything from basic inspections covering more than 10 key items to advanced professional services, available at more than 400 Shell Engine Oil Change Service Centres across Thailand.

Ms. Ornuthai Na Chiangmai, Country Chair, The Shell Company of Thailand Limited, stated that through earlier collaborations, Shell identified an opportunity to enhance the skills of over 700 mechanics nationwide by certifying them to Department of Skill Development standards. This initiative not only aims to elevate service quality but also helps build stable career progression for Thai workers. Shell believes that investing in human resource development is a crucial pillar for sustainable business growth and a core part of its mission to Powering Lives – enhancing the quality of life of Thai society as a reliable and trusted partner on every journey.

The signing of this cooperation marks a significant step in combining the power of the world’s No. 1 quality engine oil, which has led global sales for 18 consecutive years, with a team of professional mechanics certified to national standards. This partnership ensures a comprehensive and reliable service experience for customers. Shell aims to make every visit to a Shell Engine Oil Change Service Centre a customer-focused experience that emphasises care, safety, and confidence in every journey through professional service.

Mr. Pattarawut Persalae, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Skill Development, said, “With the growing number of cars and motorcycles, the demand for maintenance and inspections continues to rise. As a result, reliable, safe, and convenient service centres are becoming increasingly important. Enhancing the skills of Shell’s oil change mechanics improves their knowledge and expertise, ensuring they meet labour standards. This support not only keeps pace with advancing technologies but also enables mechanics to deliver high-quality, safe services to the public. Our collaboration with the private sector, such as Shell, plays a key role in helping the Department of Skill Development achieve its mission to elevate Thai workers to international standards, provide stable career opportunities for Thai mechanics, and promotes sustainable growth.”

To further raise the standards of automotive mechanics, Shell has partnered with the Department of Skill Development to launch the “Shell Mechanic Champions League 2025” competition, to spotlight outstanding mechanics in three categories: motorcycles, cars, and trucks. Applications are open from today until August 31, 2025. The competition serves as a platform for mechanics to demonstrate their skills, gain valuable experience, and inspire the next generation of professionals to advance their careers.

“The collaboration between Shell and the Department of Skill Development to enhance skills and create career opportunities for Shell Engine Oil Change Service Centre mechanics goes beyond improving service quality. It reflects our commitment to human resource development and building stable career paths for Thai workers. This initiative opens the door for individuals who have completed training provided by the Department of Skill Development to confidently join Shell as qualified mechanics ready to deliver consistent, high-quality service to customers nationwide. This project aligns with our Powering Lives pillar which supports the potential of Thai workers, promoting career advancement, and reinforcing consumer confidence in vehicle safety,” concluded Ms. Ornuthai.

All forward-looking statements contained in this announcement are expressly qualified in their entirety by the cautionary statements contained or referred to in this section. Readers should not place undue reliance on forward-looking statements. Additional risk factors that may affect future results are contained in Shell plc’s Form 20-F for the year ended December 31, 2023 (available at www.shell.com/investors/news-and-filings/sec-filings.html

and www.sec.gov). These risk factors also expressly qualify all forward-looking statements contained in this announcement and should be considered by the reader. Each forward-looking statement speaks only as of the date of this announcement, 2 July, 2025. Neither Shell plc nor any of its subsidiaries undertake any obligation to publicly update or revise any forward-looking statement as a result of new information, future events or other information. Shell’s Net Carbon Intensity

Also, in this announcement we may refer to Shell’s “Net Carbon Intensity” (NCI), which includes Shell’s carbon emissions from the production of our energy products, our suppliers’ carbon emissions in supplying energy for that production and our customers’ carbon emissions associated with their use of the energy products we sell. Shell’s NCI also includes the emissions associated with the production and use of energy products produced by others which Shell purchases for resale. Shell only controls its own emissions. The use of the terms Shell’s “Net Carbon Intensity” or NCI are for convenience only and not intended to suggest these emissions are those of Shell plc or its subsidiaries.

Shell’s net-zero emissions target

Shell’s operating plan, outlook and budgets are forecasted for a ten-year period and are updated every year. They reflect the current economic environment and what we can reasonably expect to see over the next ten years. Accordingly, they reflect our Scope 1, Scope 2 and NCI targets over the next ten years. However, Shell’s operating plans cannot reflect our 2050 net-zero emissions target, as this target is currently outside our planning period. In the future, as society moves towards net-zero emissions, we expect Shell’s operating plans to reflect this movement. However, if society is not net zero in 2050, as of today, there would be significant risk that Shell may not meet this target.

Forward-looking non-GAAP measures

This announcement may contain certain forward-looking non-GAAP measures such as cash capital expenditure and divestments. We are unable to provide a reconciliation of these forward-looking non-GAAP measures to the most comparable GAAP financial measures because certain information needed to reconcile those non-GAAP measures to the most comparable GAAP financial measures is dependent on future events some of which are outside the control of Shell, such as oil and gas prices, interest rates and exchange rates. Moreover, estimating such GAAP measures with the required precision necessary to provide a meaningful reconciliation is extremely difficult and could not be accomplished without unreasonable effort. Non-GAAP measures in respect of future periods which cannot be reconciled to the most comparable GAAP financial measure are calculated in a manner which is consistent with the accounting policies applied in Shell plc’s consolidated financial statements.
