เชลล์ส่งแชมป์ระดับประเทศเข้าแข่งขันออกแบบเมืองแห่งอนาคต ระดับภูมิภาคเอเชียและตะวันออกกลาง เน้นบทบาทพลังงานที่ยั่งยืนกับชีวิตวิถีใหม่

นายปนันท์ ประจวบเหมาะ ประธานกรรมการ บริษัท เชลล์แห่งประเทศไทย จำกัด กล่าวว่า “เมืองต่างๆ ทั่วโลกเผชิญกับสถานการณ์การแพร่ระบาดของเชื้อไวรัสโควิด-19 และได้รับผลกระทบในช่วงเวลาและลักษณะที่แตกต่างกันในหลายแง่มุม จึงต้องมีการเตรียมรับมือที่แตกต่างกันไป การมองไปข้างหน้าและเตรียมรับมือกับความท้าทายและผลกระทบอื่นๆ ที่จะตามมาเป็นเรื่องสำคัญ เชลล์ ประเทศไทยจึงยังคงดำเนินโครงการ Imagine the Future Scenarios Competition 2020 Thailand ที่เปิดโอกาสให้คนรุ่นใหม่ได้จำลองสถานการณ์เมืองในอนาคตและเหตุการณ์เสมือนจริง โดยเฉพาะการปรับรูปแบบการดำเนินชีวิตเพื่อเข้าสู่ชีวิตวิถีใหม่ หรือ New Normal เราต้องการความร่วมมืออย่างใกล้ชิดแบบที่ไม่เคยมีมาก่อน ทั้งระหว่างภาคส่วนต่างๆ และคนต่างวัยต่างเจนเนอเรชั่นด้วย และนั่นจะทำให้เราเห็นภาพที่ชัดเจนว่าควรจะใช้พลังงานที่สะอาดขึ้น มีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น เพื่ออนาคตที่ดีกว่าของเราทุกคนได้อย่างไร”

สำหรับโครงการ Imagine the Future Scenarios Competition 2020 Thailand เชลล์มีวัตถุประสงค์หลักเพื่อมอบโอกาสให้คนรุ่นใหม่ได้เรียนรู้และฝึกฝนทักษะในการจำลองสถานการณ์ของเมืองในอนาคต ผ่านเครื่องมือที่เรียกว่า Shell Scenarios ซึ่งถูกคิดค้นขึ้นเมื่อ 50 ปีที่แล้ว เครื่องมือจำลองสถานการณ์นี้ได้ถูกนำไปประยุกต์ใช้จริงอย่างแพร่หลาย ทั้งในภาคธุรกิจ ภาคการศึกษา ตลอดจนภาครัฐ รวมไปถึงการจำลองสถานการณ์เพื่อกำหนดนโยบายและการออกแบบผังเมืองต่างๆ ในหลายประเทศมาแล้ว ทีมเยาวชนที่ร่วมโครงการได้มีโอกาสเรียนรู้เรื่องการเปลี่ยนผ่านพลังงาน ความยั่งยืน และวิทยาศาสตร์แห่งโลกอนาคต ผ่านเวิร์คช้อปออนไลน์ โดยผู้เชี่ยวชาญทั้งไทยและต่างประเทศ และพิเศษสำหรับปีนี้ เชลล์ ประเทศไทยได้เปิดโอกาสให้พนักงานคนรุ่นใหม่ในองค์กรสมัครเข้าร่วมโครงการในฐานะพี่เลี้ยงอาสาสมัคร (Volunteer Mentor) เพื่อแบ่งปันประสบการณ์และให้คำปรึกษากับรุ่นน้องในทีมที่ตนเองรับผิดชอบด้วย ผู้เข้าแข่งขันต้องนำเสนอภาพจำลองเกี่ยวกับการใช้ชีวิต การทำงาน และการพักผ่อนของผู้คนในอนาคต พร้อมการใช้พลังงานที่ยั่งยืน ได้อย่างชัดเจน สมเหตุสมผล น่าเชื่อถือ ครอบคลุม และสามารถสร้างความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างสถานการณ์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นกับตัวแปรที่รอบด้านทั้งเศรษฐกิจ สังคม การเมือง สิ่งแวดล้อม รวมถึงปัจจัยอื่นที่อาจไม่ได้คาดคิดมาก่อน เช่น การแพร่ระบาดของเชื้อโควิด-19

ทั้งนี้ การแข่งขันจำลองสถานการณ์ในอนาคต Imagine the Future Scenario Competition 2020 Thailand ได้มีการประกาศผลการแข่งขันรอบสุดท้ายไปแล้วเมื่อเดือนเมษายนที่ผ่านมา โดยทีมชนะเลิศ ได้แก่ ทีม Good Night Consulting จากคณะพาณิชยศาสตร์และการบัญชี มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ที่ได้เป็นตัวแทนประเทศไทยเข้าแข่งขันในเวทีระดับภูมิภาคเอเชียแปซิฟิกและตะวันออกกลาง ซึ่งจะจัดขึ้นในเดือนสิงหาคม 2563 นี้ในรูปแบบ Virtual เช่นกัน ติดตามข้อมูลและการแข่งขัน ได้ที่ www.shell.co.th หรือ Facebook: Imagine the Future Competition
