นายจิรุตม์ วิศาลจิตร อธิบดีกรมการขนส่งทางบก กล่าวว่า “กรมการขนส่งทางบก เป็นองค์กรแห่งนวัตกรรมในการควบคุม กำกับ ดูแลระบบการขนส่งทางถนนให้มีคุณภาพและปลอดภัย ได้ให้ความสำคัญกับการพัฒนาศักยภาพของผู้ขับรถบรรทุก รวมไปถึงดูแลความปลอดภัยบนท้องถนน ผู้ขับขี่จึงจำเป็นต้องมีการพัฒนาอย่างต่อเนื่อง เพื่อให้ก้าวทันสถานการณ์ในภาคขนส่ง ยกระดับมาตรฐานคุณภาพของตนเองให้มีประสิทธิภาพ และเป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับมาตรฐานสากลมากขึ้น การที่บริษัทชั้นนำระดับโลกเช่นเชลล์ จัดกิจกรรมเสริมศักยภาพผู้ขับรถบรรทุกนับได้ว่าเป็นแนวทางที่สอดคล้องกับกรมการขนส่งทางบก ในการเตรียมความพร้อมของผู้ขับขนส่งให้ได้มาตรฐานเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของแผนยุทธศาสตร์กระทรวงคมนาคม”

นายปนันท์ ประจวบเหมาะ ประธานกรรมการ บริษัท เชลล์แห่งประเทศไทย จำกัด กล่าวว่า โครงการ “ฮีโร่รถบรรทุกอุ่นใจ ขับขี่ปลอดภัย กับเชลล์ริมูล่า” อยู่ภายใต้แคมเปญ “คุณปลอดภัย ทุกคนปลอดภัย ร่วมใช้ถนนอย่างรับผิดชอบ” ที่มีแผนดำเนินงานเป็นเวลา 3 ปี ตั้งแต่พ.ศ. 2561 – พ.ศ. 2563 เพื่อตอกย้ำความมุ่งมั่นของบริษัทในการให้ความสำคัญกับความปลอดภัย นอกจากนี้เชลล์ยังมีส่วนในการสนับสนุนให้โครงสร้างพื้นฐานทางถนนของประเทศไทยปลอดภัยด้วยนวัตกรรมผลิตภัณฑ์ยางมะตอยและการใช้สถานีบริการน้ำมันของเชลล์เป็นจุดพักรถและรณรงค์เรื่องความปลอดภัย เพื่อสร้างความปลอดภัยทางถนนสำหรับสังคมไทย”

นางสาววีธรา ตระกูลบุญ กรรมการบริหาร ธุรกิจน้ำมันหล่อลื่น บริษัท เชลล์แห่งประเทศไทย จำกัด กล่าวว่า “เชลล์ ในฐานะผู้ผลิต เชลล์ ริมูล่า ผลิตภัณฑ์น้ำมันเครื่องสำหรับรถบรรทุกงานหนักที่อยู่เคียงข้างผู้ขับขี่รถบรรทุกชาวไทยมาอย่างยาวนาน ตระหนักดีถึงความสำคัญของผู้ขับขี่รถบรรทุกผู้เปรียบเสมือนเป็นฟันเฟืองสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจของประเทศ เราจึงได้จัดกิจกรรมต่างๆ เพื่อส่งเสริมภาพลักษณ์ที่ดีรวมถึงส่งเสริมศักยภาพของผู้ขับรถบรรทุกอย่างต่อเนื่อง นอกเหนือไปจากผลิตภัณฑ์น้ำมันเครื่องรถบรรทุกที่จะช่วยปกป้องเครื่องยนต์จากภายในแล้ว เราหวังว่าโครงการ “ฮีโร่รถบรรทุกอุ่นใจ ขับขี่ปลอดภัย กับเชลล์ริมูล่า” ซึ่งจัดขึ้นปีนี้เป็นปีแรก และเรามีแผนที่จะจัดอย่างต่อเนื่องในปีต่อๆ ไปนั้น จะเป็นอีกหนึ่งกิจกรรมสำคัญที่จะส่งเสริมอาชีพขับรถขนส่งทางถนน พัฒนาทักษะผู้ขับรถบรรทุก ให้สามารถขับรถขนส่งได้อย่างปลอดภัยรวมถึงสนับสนุนระบบขนส่งของประเทศอีกด้วย”

นายพรหมมินทร์ กัณธิยะ ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานเครือข่ายลดอุบัติเหตุ กล่าวว่า “ปัญหาอุบัติเหตุทางถนน สาเหตุหลักคือ ขับเร็ว ดื่มแล้วขับ และอีกสาเหตุหนึ่งคือจอดรถข้างทาง การชนท้าย ที่ผู้ใช้รถใช้ถนนมักมองไม่เห็นรถขนาดใหญ่ในเวลากลางคืน มีสถิติการชนท้ายรถบรรทุกถึงร้อยละ 7.6 สิ่งที่ต้องรู้ คือการเว้นระยะห่างที่เพียงพอ สภาพแวดล้อมต้องปลอดภัย การบรรทุกสินค้าต้องไม่เกินส่วนกว้างของตัวรถ การจะป้องกันอุบัติเหตุได้สิ่งสำคัญคือการฝึกอบรมผู้ขับขี่ให้มีทักษะความรู้ ความเข้าใจที่ถูกต้อง นอกจากนี้องค์กรต้องปฏิบัติตามกฎระเบียบข้อบังคับอย่างเคร่งครัด เช่น จัดให้มีเครื่องหมายแถบสะท้อนแสง พื้นสีขาว ขอบสีแดง พร้อมขาตั้งหรือฐาน มองเห็นได้เวลากลางคืนระยะไม่น้อยกว่า 150 เมตร ซึ่งโครงการของเชลล์ครั้งนี้จะมีส่วนช่วยให้เกิดการตระหนักรู้ อีกทั้งยกระดับทักษะการขับขี่ช่วยลดการเกิดอุบัติเหตุบนท้องถนนไทยต่อไป”

เชลล์สนับสนุนความร่วมมือในการรณรงค์เรื่องความปลอดภัยทางถนนอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยความร่วมมือกับพันธมิตรทุกภาคส่วนดังกล่าว เชลล์มุ่งหวังในการช่วยลดการเกิดอุบัติเหตุและส่งเสริมความปลอดภัยทั้งในส่วนบุคคล ในการปฏิบัติงาน และในการเดินทาง สำหรับความปลอดภัยในการเดินทางและความปลอดภัยทางถนน เชลล์รณรงค์ให้ผู้ใช้รถใช้ถนนปฏิบัติตามกฎหมายและกฎระเบียบ การให้การอบรมหลากหลายรูปแบบ ร่วมด้วยการจัดหาอุปกรณ์ป้องกันภัยและเครื่องมือเรียนรู้ที่เหมาะสมอย่างต่อเนื่อง อาทิ เครื่องจำลองการขับขี่สำหรับพนักงานขับรถ ซึ่งใช้ประกอบการฝึกอบรม โดยมีกลุ่มเป้าหมาย ได้แก่ พนักงานและบุคลากรในห่วงโซ่ธุรกิจของเชลล์ ผู้ใช้รถใช้ถนนทั่วไป ตลอดจนเด็กและเยาวชน
