ดร. ศิริ จิระพงษ์พันธ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพลังงาน  กล่าวว่า “ในช่วงที่ผ่านมา สถานการณ์ค่าฝุ่นละอองขนาดเล็ก PM 2.5 ที่เกินมาตรฐานในหลายพื้นที่ทั้งในเขตกรุงเทพมหานครและปริมณฑล เป็นปัญหาที่ก่อให้เกิดความกังวลรวมถึงส่งผลกระทบด้านสุขภาพของประชาชน กระทรวงพลังงานไม่ได้นิ่งนอนใจ โดยได้เร่งรัดมาตรการในการแก้ปัญหานี้โดยเฉพาะ  รวมถึงการร่วมมือกับบริษัทน้ำมันในการ จำหน่ายน้ำมันไบโอดีเซล บี20 ในสถานีบริการน้ำมันเพื่อเพิ่มปริมาณการใช้น้ำมันปาล์มดิบให้มากขึ้น  กระทรวงพลังงานขอขอบคุณบริษัทเชลล์แห่งประเทศไทยที่ได้ให้ความร่วมมือกับกระทรวงพลังงานมาโดยตลอด”

นายปนันท์ ประจวบเหมาะ รองประธานกรรมการ และกรรมการบริหาร ฝ่ายการเงิน บริษัท เชลล์แห่งประเทศไทย จำกัด กล่าวว่า “เชลล์ขับเคลื่อนนโยบายพลังงานที่ยั่งยืนโดยให้ความสำคัญในการสร้างเสริมความมั่นคงทางพลังงานควบคู่กับการดูแลสิ่งแวดล้อม เรายินดีเป็นอย่างยิ่งในการเปิดจำหน่ายน้ำมันเชลล์ดีเซล บี 20 ในสถานีบริการเชลล์ภูมิรพี อำเภอวังน้อย นอกจากนี้ เรายังร่วมมือกับพันธมิตรภาคการขนส่งอย่างบริษัทพงษ์ระวี  บริษัทสแกนเนีย สยาม พันธมิตรทางเทคนิค บริษัท ตรีเพชรอีซูซุเซลส์ รวมถึงพันธมิตรทางธุรกิจอื่นๆ  ในการใช้น้ำมันเชลล์ดีเซล บี20 ในสายการขนส่งด้วย น้ำมันเชลล์ดีเซล บี20 ณ สถานีบริการน้ำมันเชลล์ภูมิรพี อำเภอ วังน้อย รวมถึงส่วมผสมของน้ำมันปาล์มไบโอดีเซล 100% ที่เชลล์ซื้อและผสมในน้ำมันนั้น ได้การรับรองหรือชดเชยให้ครอบคลุมตามระบบมาตรฐานการผลิตน้ำมันปาล์มอย่างยั่งยืน (RSPO) ซึ่งเป็นองค์กรไม่แสวงหากำไรที่กำหนดหลักเกณฑ์วิธีการทางด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมและสังคม ลดผลกระทบด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมที่อาจมีต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมและชุมชนในพื้นที่ผลิต ทั้งนี้การรับรองของ RSPO ครอบคลุมแนวทางต่างๆ อาทิเช่น ไม่ตัดไม้ทำลายป่า ไม่ปลูกบนพื้นที่ชุ่มชื้น การดูแลพื้นที่ร่วมกับชุมชน สิทธิของเกษตรกร การจ่ายเงินที่เป็นธรรมและสภาพแวดล้อมการทำงานที่ปลอดภัย”

นางสาวชุติมา บุณยประภัศร รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงพาณิชย์ กล่าวว่า “กระทรวงพาณิชย์ได้ทำงานร่วมกับกระทรวงพลังงานในการเร่งออกมาตรการเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาราคาน้ำมันปาล์มทั้งระบบ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการสร้างแรงจูงใจในการส่งเสริมการผลิตรวมถึงการใช้น้ำมันไบโอดีเซล บี20 เช่น การปรับราคาจำหน่ายน้ำมันดีเซล บี20 ให้ต่ำกว่าน้ำมันดีเซลปกติ 5 บาทต่อลิตรถึงเดือนพฤษภาคมนี้  การนำน้ำมันปาล์มดิบมาเป็นเชื้อเพลิงร่วมกับก๊าซธรรมชาติผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้าที่โรงไฟฟ้าบางปะกง จ. ฉะเชิงเทรา รวมถึงการเร่งขยายเครือข่ายสถานีบริการที่มีหัวจ่ายน้ำมันดีเซล บี20 เพิ่มเติม เพื่อดูดซับสต็อกน้ำมันปาล์มดิบ การที่เชลล์เปิดจำหน่ายน้ำมันเชลล์ดีเซล บี20  ในวันนี้เป็นหนึ่งในมาตรการสร้างสมดุลราคาเพื่อช่วยเหลือเกษตรกรอย่างต่อเนื่อง”

นางสาวอรอุทัย ณ เชียงใหม่ กรรมการบริหาร ธุรกิจการตลาดค้าปลีก บริษัท เชลล์แห่งประเทศไทย จำกัด กล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า “เชลล์ให้ความสำคัญกับความต้องการของผู้บริโภคเป็นอันดับต้นๆ  การจำหน่ายน้ำมันเชลล์ดีเซล บี20 ในสถานีบริการของเชลล์ในวันนี้จะทำให้ลูกค้าสามารถเข้าถึงพลังงานสะอาดได้อย่างสะดวกสบายยิ่งขึ้น นอกจากนี้เชลล์ยังให้ความสำคัญกับนวัตกรรมการออกแบบในสถานีบริการน้ำมัน ที่ดีต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม สามารถลดการใช้น้ำ การเพิ่มพื้นที่สีเขียว และการจัดการขยะอันตรายอีก สอดคล้องกับแนวคิด ‘เชลล์เติมสุขให้ทุกชีวิต’”

เชลล์เดินหน้าสู่ทิศทางของพลังงานที่ยั่งยืนสำหรับประเทศไทย โดยกลยุทธ์ ‘พลังงานสะอาด เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพ’ ถือเป็นกลยุทธ์ที่มีเป้าหมายที่จะตอบโจทย์ความต้องการใช้พลังงานที่เพิ่มมากขึ้น ในขณะเดียวกันก็ต้องการลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกลงให้ได้มากที่สุด โดยผ่าน 3 แนวทางหลักได้แก่

  • การนำนวัตกรรมเทคโนโลยีด้านพลังงานที่ก้าวหน้ามาสู่ประเทศไทย เชลล์ได้นำเทคโนโลยีและผลิตภัณฑ์อันทันสมัยและดีต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมมาสู่ประเทศไทยเช่น น้ำมันเชลล์ วี-เพาเวอร์ น้ำมันเกรด พรีเมี่ยม ช่วยทำความสะอาดเครื่องยนต์ เผาไหม้สมบูรณ์ลดการเกิดเขม่าไอเสีย
  • การร่วมมือกันของทุกฝ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้อง การเดินหน้าสู่การเปลี่ยนผ่านพลังงานนั้นต้องอาศัยความร่วมมือจากทุกฝ่ายที่เกี่ยวข้องไม่ว่าจะเป็นรัฐบาล บริษัทผู้ผลิตรถยนต์ บริษัทน้ำมันและผู้เกี่ยวข้องอื่นๆ โดยเชลล์ได้ให้การสนับสนุนนโยบายของภาครัฐด้วยดีเสมอมา นอกจากนั้น ยังได้รับความร่วมมือจากพันธมิตรต่างๆ ของเชลล์เป็นอย่างดี
