นายอัษฎา หะรินสุต ประธานกรรมการ บริษัท เชลล์แห่งประเทศไทย จำกัด กล่าว “ในฐานะที่เป็นบริษัทด้านพลังงานแห่งแรกในไทย เชลล์ ประเทศไทย ภูมิใจเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่ได้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการพัฒนาประเทศและสังคมมาตลอด 126 ปี และในฐานะหนึ่งในผู้นำด้านพลังงานและน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิง เรามีความมุ่งมั่นในการขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนด้วยการให้ความสำคัญกับการบริหารจัดการพลังงานที่มีประสิทธิภาพและสะอาดยิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับเป้าหมายระดับโลกของเราในการลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกลง 20% ภายในปี 2035[1] เราเชื่อว่าแผนพัฒนาของเราจะเป็นไปในทิศทางเดียวกันกับการมุ่งสู่เป้าหมายด้านความยั่งยืน รวมถึงสนับสนุนนโยบายภาครัฐในการเดินหน้าขับเคลื่อนประเทศไทยภายใต้นโยบายไทยแลนด์ 4.0”

ตั้งแต่ปี พ.ศ. 2435 ที่ เชลล์ได้เริ่มต้นดำเนินธุรกิจในไทย บริษัทได้ช่วยยกระดับการพัฒนานวัตกรรมพลังงานและคุณภาพการผลิตน้ำมันเชื้อเพลิงในประเทศ โดยในปีนี้ บริษัทดำเนินกลยุทธ์ “พลังงานสะอาด เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพ และดีต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม” เพื่อบรรลุเป้าหมายตามแผนพัฒนาพลังงานเพื่อความยั่งยืน โดยมีองค์ประกอบหลัก 3 ด้าน คือ การพัฒนาด้านนวัตกรรม การร่วมมือกันของทุกฝ่าย และการพัฒนาศักยภาพและคุณภาพชีวิตของคนในประเทศไทย นอกจากนี้ เชลล์ ประเทศไทยยังสร้างสรรค์โครงการเพื่อสังคมอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยให้ความสำคัญกับการลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกเพื่อปกป้องดูแลสิ่งแวดล้อม มาตรการความปลอดภัยทางถนน รวมถึงการพัฒนาทรัพยากรบุคคลเพื่อชีวิตความเป็นอยู่อย่างพอเพียง 

การพัฒนาด้านนวัตกรรม : ความมุ่งมั่นในการชดเชยคาร์บอนให้เป็นศูนย์ โดยเน้นการลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกเพื่อปกป้องดูแลสิ่งแวดล้อม คือแนวทางในการเปลี่ยนผ่านด้านพลังงานเพื่อความยั่งยืน เชลล์ ประเทศไทย ได้เริ่มการรณรงค์ตั้งแต่ภายในองค์กร สร้างจิตสำนึกให้มีความรับผิดชอบในการใช้พลังงาน รวมถึงการวางเป้าหมายด้านการผลิตพลังงานที่มีรูปแบบเหมาะสม เพิ่มประสิทธิภาพ อีกทั้งยังให้ความสำคัญกับนวัตกรรมพลังงานที่มีคุณภาพ การจัดการขยะอย่างเป็นระบบ ตลอดจนการพัฒนาพลังงานทางเลือกใหม่ๆ ไปพร้อมกัน โดยมีการดำเนินงานทั้งภายในและภายนอกองค์กร อาทิ การใช้หลังคาโซล่าร์ในพื้นที่บริเวณและอาคารสำนักงานใหญ่ การเลือกใช้เชื้อเพลิงชีวภาพ ซึ่งมีส่วนสนับสนุนความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีของเกษตรกร ซึ่งเป็นคนส่วนใหญ่ในประเทศ ขณะเดียวกันก็สามารถสร้างความเข้มแข็งในการแข่งขันทางธุรกิจด้วย

การทำงานร่วมกันของทุกฝ่าย: ความสำเร็จในการเปลี่ยนผ่านพลังงานจำเป็นต้องได้รับความร่วมมือจากผู้ที่มีส่วนเกี่ยวข้องทุกฝ่าย ทั้งภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และภาคประชาสังคม การเปลี่ยนผ่านพลังงานจะไม่สามารถสำเร็จได้ หากขาดการสนับสนุนจากภาครัฐในเชิงนโยบาย บริษัทผู้ผลิตรถยนต์ที่พัฒนาเครื่องยนต์ให้สามารถใช้เชื้อเพลิงชีวภาพได้มากขึ้น และผู้ผลิตเชื้อเพลิงชีวภาพต่างๆ ที่เน้นพัฒนาและเลือกใช้ผลิตภัณฑ์จากเทคโนโลยีที่ก้าวหน้ามากขึ้น ที่สำคัญ หากวิเคราะห์จากมุมมองด้านสังคม ซึ่งต้องเติบโตอย่างสมดุลพร้อมกับการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสิ่งแวดล้อมนั้น เชลล์ ประเทศไทย ตระหนักดีว่าความปลอดภัยคือปัจจัยหลักในการเติมความสุขให้กับทุกชีวิต โดยเฉพาะในเรื่องของการเดินทางอย่างปลอดภัย หนึ่งในโครงการอันเกิดจากความร่วมมือจากหลากหลายภาคส่วน ได้แก่ โครงการความปลอดภัยบนท้องถนนที่เชิญชวนให้เยาวชนไทยรุ่นใหม่หันมาให้ความสำคัญและมีบทบาทในการใช้เทคโนโลยีดิจิตอลเพื่อส่งเสริมรณรงค์เรื่องความปลอดภัยทางถนนและในชุมชนด้วย

การพัฒนาศักยภาพและคุณภาพชีวิตของคนในประเทศ: การลงทุนด้านทรัพยากรบุคคลคือกุญแจสำคัญที่นำไปสู่ชีวิตและโลกของเราที่ดีขึ้นด้วยเช่นกัน การพัฒนาทรัพยากรบุคคลเพื่อชีวิตความเป็นอยู่อย่างพอเพียง เป็นแนวคิดหลักที่เชลล์มุ่งเน้น โดยคำนึงถึงชุมชนเกษตรกรรมและเยาวชนรุ่นใหม่ให้มีส่วนร่วมขับเคลื่อนพัฒนาประเทศ การลงทุนในการพัฒนาทักษะชีวิตและการศึกษาเรียนรู้ คือหลักการที่จำเป็นอย่างยิ่งในการนำไปสู่พลังงานสะอาดที่ยั่งยืนและเพิ่มโอกาสสู่คุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีขึ้น เชลล์ ประเทศไทย ดำเนินโครงการเชลล์เติมสุข (Fuel the Happiness) อย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยจัดสรรพื้นที่ภายในสถานีบริการน้ำมันของเชลล์ ให้คนในชุมชนเข้ามาสร้างแปลงปลูกผักและขายพืชผลทางการเกษตรให้กับลูกค้าที่มาเติมน้ำมัน นอกจากนี้ ยังจัดให้มีการอบรมและเปิดโอกาสแก่นักเรียนในการทำงานพิเศษช่วงปิดภาคเรียน รวมไปถึงการพัฒนาความรู้และทักษะของเยาวชนรุ่นใหม่ เช่น โครงการแข่งขันสร้างรถต้นแบบประหยัดพลังงานและดีต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม เชลล์ อีโค-มาราธอน เป็นต้น

ด้วยเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนและการดูแลเคียงข้างสังคม เชลล์ ประเทศไทย จึงได้ดำเนินงานด้านการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนผ่านแนวคิด “Believe-Become-Belong” โดย “Believe” เป็นการสร้างความเชื่อมั่นและความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับการตอบสนองความท้าทายด้านพลังงานและการเปลี่ยนแปลงด้านสภาพอากาศบนความร่วมมือกับผู้มีส่วนได้เสีย โดยคำนึงถึงการมีพลังงานที่มากขึ้นและในขณะที่ตอบโจทย์ความต้องการสิ่งแวดล้อมที่มีคุณภาพไปพร้อมกัน “Become” คือการดำเนินงานที่มุ่งเน้นเป้าหมายด้านความยั่งยืน 6 ประการตามกรอบ UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) ตลอดทั้งห่วงโซ่ธุรกิจ โดยเฉพาะภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และประชาสังคม ซึ่งมีส่วนสำคัญอย่างยิ่งในการกำหนดทิศทางอนาคตพลังงานของประเทศไทย และ “Belong” หมายถึงการส่งเสริมให้พนักงานทุกคนเป็นสมาชิกส่วนหนึ่งของสังคม ส่งเสริมบทบาทความร่วมมือในการขับเคลื่อนความก้าวหน้าด้านพลังงาน เอาใจใส่ดูแลลูกค้าและภาคส่วนต่างๆ ของสังคมไทยสู่ความสุขที่ยั่งยืน
