The Shell Graduate Programme

In the Corporate Functions area of the Shell Graduate Programme, you’ll help deliver the specialist advice that enables us to operate as a highly competitive global business. You’ll embark on a three-year training programme that includes two job rotations lasting 18 months each. You'll work on real finance projects, which will give you an unrivalled opportunity to learn how to maximise value for a large company and influence the overall delivery of Shell’s global financial performance.

Finance

As a graduate in Shell’s Finance team, you'll help drive profit and shape new financial processes to ensure our continued success. You'll have the opportunity to perform key commercial tasks that support Shell’s core operations and become crucial to how we meet the world’s growing energy demands. Working closely with teams from across our business, you’ll experience the end-to-end value chain from financial planning and mergers and acquisitions, to treasury and financial support in sales promotions.

Roles and responsibilities

You'll experience a comprehensive introduction to the scope of Shell’s financial workings and be given experience in various areas of Shell’s financial business through roles such as:

  • Finance Analyst
  • Finance Controller
  • Finance Management

And you could take up a variety of key responsibilities including:

  • Financial modelling, valuations and analysis
  • Finance input to commercial decisions

  • Risk management and internal control
  • Local and group accounting policies, standards and reporting

  • Planning, target setting and budgeting

  • Performance management and appraisal

Training and development

To help you discover and develop your true strengths in finance, you’ll be immersed in our supportive and inclusive working environment and given access to formal training including Financial Controlling and Accounting, Finance Management and Finance Support. We operate a culture of continuous development and learning, so we’ll provide you with coaching, mentoring and regular progress checks to make sure you have all the means necessary to become a future leader.
