When we are open to opportunities freedom to express our ideas, I think these are very important qualities of a good workplace.
Hi, I'm Samita Kheawchaoom. I'm working as Integrated Business Value Analyst at Shell.

You have been working virtually with your manager who is not based in Thailand since your first role?
[Samita]
That's true. I started in the Shell Graduate Programme working as Portfolio Life-cycle Management Indonesia. Not only I had to work with Indonesia team, my manager and team were in China.

How do you feel working with your manager in different country?
[Samita]
It was quite a good experience regardless of the distance because my manager was taking very good care of me. So, the distance didn't really bother me.

What is the Shell Graduate Programme?
[Samita]
Shell Graduate Programme is a programme designed to develop young leaders with job rotation every one and a half years. Also training and assessment to make sure that everyone can reach their full potential.

What did you learn from the three years at the Shell Graduate Programme?
[Samita]
I have gained a lot of experiences not only work-related knowledge, but also get to work with people from different backgrounds and training abroad. We also received the opportunity to get to know the senior management to understand more about company's vision and listening to their advice.

How do you feel about job rotation every 1.5 years?
[Samita]
I think it is interesting and challenging to be able to work at different positions. I have been with Shell for three years with three different jobs. My first job was Project Coordinator, then Demand Planner, and now Integrated Business Value Analyst.

What makes you successful at your job?
[Samita]
I think we need to be ready to learn new things. Shell offers me the opportunities to improve my potential. When we are open to new opportunities, freedom to voice our opinions, I think this is important in adding more value to company.

Before joining Shell, what kind of company did you want to work for?
[Samita]
I wanted to work for a company that supports learning and freedom to express our thoughts, with nice colleagues. I think I've made the right decision.

Hi, I'm Bee, Charnchai Saereeporncharenkul. I am working as Deal Making Team Lead at Shell.

How did you join Shell?
[Charnchai]
I first started out as Distribution Analyst then Road Transport Compliance Coordinator. Two positions over a four year period. My main responsibility was managing Transportation Agreement with our partners. It was quite challenging for me. I was lucky because my manager believed in me.

And then you went to work abroad?
[Charnchai]
After I've worked as the Road Transport Compliance Coordinator, I earned the support from senior management to work at Tabangao refinery in the Philippines. My job was to maximize the profit from refining oil, also planning and blending oils. It was quite challenging because I had to work with both the Philippines team regional teams. It was considered as one of the biggest challenges in my career and I got through it with joy.

How has working abroad help in your job in Thailand?
[Charnchai]
I've learned a lot about Supply Chain and Logistics. Also, improved my leadership skills because I am a team leader now. This is a great opportunity once again, being given another challenging job because I've never been a team leader before. I still work with joy as always. I have to say big thanks to my leaders and senior management for being supportive, my colleagues who are always helping each other, also, our team that always do their best to achieve the goals.

Is there still room for growth?
[Charnchai]
Because Shell believes in me, so I believe in Shell, too. And so I have the opportunity to become Deal Making Team Lead. My job is to deal with different oil refineries, local oil companies, oversea traders to source the best oil for Shell.

How did these opportunities come to you?
[Charnchai]
We need to start with ourselves, always improve ourselves. Shell has open opportunity for everyone, but we got to be ready to grab that.
